Welcome to our “blog” of sorts – you will see us posting about upcoming classes and events, tips on choosing colors, and whatever else may come to mind.
Please note the dates on class and event posts – posts here may have gone up when the class was “new” – but the most recent schedule, class prices and requirements can always be found on our Calendar.
We have FIVE classes on the calendar with our new friend and teacher, Michelle Coon. She’s still teaching at Café Sewciety, but since they are closing up shop very soon, we have benefited because Michelle is willing to come all the way to Caledonia to teach at CBQ. I’m very excited to share the photos of projects she’ll be teaching, and have already started ordering supplies for all of them :O
Something very unique for Michelle as an instructor? She tells me that in her classes, you will walk away with a FINISHED project, no UFOs to add to your piles at home.
Check the calendar for the schedule on these great projects – and be sure to stop in the shop to see the samples in person. The photos do not do them justice.
We hope that you are enjoying some sewing time this holiday season – we’ve been spending our days rearranging the shop. You will be amazed at what we have uncovered, rediscovered, and re-imagined as we moved the shop around to create a better shopping experience for all! We are reopening January 3 and will be back to our regular hours. Be sure to stop by and see what’s “new and improved” at Chestnut Bay!

It is Row by Row time again. We love this experience -we’ve been participating in the Row by Row since the beginning – and oh how it has grown!
This year’s theme is Home Sweet Home – Come in to see our Miss Moneypenny Donkey row, she’s hanging around the shop in her Barn Sweet Barn (this year’s theme is Home Sweet Home).
“Hole in the Barn Door” row was inspired by my equine types in the backyard! Since my shop is named for two of my horses, I figured one of my rows should have something to do with the donkey/horses and the barn as their “Home Sweet Home.”
Kits: $12.00, Horsing Around license plates: $4.00, FUN: Free!
Travel and collect rows from June 21st through September 6, 2016, bring in a completed quilt any time from June 21-October 31 for a prize of at least 25 fat quarters.
Do you follow Chestnut Bay Quilting on Facebook? It is the best place to see our latest projects, new shipments, event updates, and lots and lots of pictures. We update the website as quickly as we can – but the latest news will always hit Facebook first.

Spend just $30 per month at CBQ and you’ll receive a free Pin Peddlers Quilt Charm, a pattern in TWO sizes, 10” x 10” and 20” x 20” . The punch cards had already been printed with $50 on them to punch out so if you spend more than $30, you will be entered into ANOTHER drawing for MORE prizes. This is going to be a super-fun club. We have to limit it to 25 participants, so sign up soon if you’re interested!
Members will receive a punch card for January in late December. Bring in your January punch card every time you shop that month. Spend $30.00 each month and you will receive a free charm and 20” x 20” block pattern which matches the charm.
You can finish these blocks any way you choose. You can make twelve table toppers, two-block baby quilts, six-block lap quilts or one queen size quilt, whatever you want. For every completed (quilted, bound & labeled) project, you will be entered into a drawing for a Tutto sewing machine case in your choice of colors.
You will have until January 31st, 2017 to complete your projects.
We will have a completion party in February, 2017, date TBD.
